Gainz: Connecting Trainers andClients Through One App

Gainz is a coaching app that connects personal trainers and their clients in one place. A trainer builds a workout and nutrition plan, and it shows up directly in the client's day, no separate spreadsheets, PDFs, or messaging back and forth to track progress.
The Approach
Nutrition tracking and workout programming are each complicated systems on their own. Building both into a single app, without it feeling like two different products stuck together, was the core design problem, especially on a timeline under three months.

Scheduling across every sport
The calendar handles scheduling across multiple sports, weightlifting, swimming, running, and more, in one view, with each session building out into a full workout plan: exercises, sets, reps, and rest, mapped against the muscle groups it trains.

Training in the moment
Once a session starts, the app switches into a focused live-workout mode: one exercise at a time, full-bleed photography, and just the numbers that matter, set, tempo, weight, and time. Rest periods get the same clear treatment, with a countdown and the option to skip straight to the next exercise.

Built for how a trainer actually works
Creating a new session is a short form, title, date, recurrence, duration, and exercises, built to be fast enough that a trainer can build a week of programming without it feeling like data entry. And for the client, the day extends past sets and macros too, with a knowledge base and guided meditation reachable from the same central menu.

The Outcome
Gainz is built and ready, with the client-facing app complete across scheduling, nutrition, and live workout tracking. It hasn't launched publicly yet, so there's no usage data to report , the trainer-facing dashboard is the next piece of the product to come together.
